Hey, I was just wondering what my chances were for getting into these schools. Im from San Diego and I wasn't sure if I could get into them. Anyways here they are:

Northeastern University
Drexell
Temple
Boston University
University of Minnesota (Minneapolis)

Northeastern is a high match, temple safetyish, BU is a reach, U of Minn. is a match, i have no clue about drexel..... also u might want to add ohio univ.-athens, iu-bloomington and u of dayton all of those are great schools in the midwest and in your range

Does a high match mean match/reach or does it mean more like a really good match for me.
Also how much of a reach do you think BU will be for me.

Man, this sucks. Even if I get a 1900 to 2000 on my SAT and I have a 3.24 gpa I still have almost no chance of getting into BU. Thats wierd since when reading those dumb college books on what the averages are I would have only about .25 less of a gpa than the average of 3.5 and a higher than average test score by about 100-150 if my predictions for my SATs come out correct. Also for Northeastern I'd have about .2-.15 less gpa but about a 200-250 more points on my SAT than the average. I would think that puts me as a regular match. I guess those books must be fool of **** then.

actually .25 is pretty far off in gpa and u dont have absolutely no chance, i would say if you score 2000+ maybe give it a shot. Also northeastern gets a little more competitive every year but i would still say you have a decent shot but dont look for much fin. aid if you do get accepted

I looked at princeton reviews website and Drexels average Gpa and test scores were pretty much the same as Northeasterns. Is there any reason why it would be harder to get into NE.

And to the UCSD comment. I would have absolutely no chance of getting into UCSD. If Boston University is considered a super reach for me than UCSD would be a .00000000000000001% chance of me being accepted.

lol... ucsd uses a weird scale so there gpa figures are weird (all the uc's do it like this) but yeah it would be a reach.. UCI is more in your range and NE would be harder b/c i suspect more ppl will apply than those who apply to drexel and like i said b4 NE is planning on being more selective, so basically they can still accept enough to make a class and still raise their stats

Be persistent, visit the college you really want to go to, get an interview, write them a letter that talks about your weaknesses and why you want to go in addition to your application. Go the extra mile. My class rank, GPA, and SAT's were all a bit below the mid 50 percent at the college I applied to (I applied ED) and I didn't think I'd get in. But my essays, recs, and energy/interest helped push me over that edge. Good luck!

EDIT:
BTW ixnay gpa, colleges use class rank more as GPA is a subjective scale. Really though, if you have a competitive course load you will be fine. That trumps everything, what use is a good GPA if you took all electives. If your schedule was competitive with some honors and a few AP's, you should be fine.

If you did get a 1350~ with an upward trend, and some good recs and essays, I wouldn't be surprised if you got into BU.

Ok, No more opinions? What if I said I had a 5.0 gpa, 2400 Sat1 scores, found the cure for cancer, Helped rid the Apartheid in South Africa, and I accomplished all of this even though I am blind, deaf, and grew up in Tijuana. Oh and Im related to Albert Einstien and George Washington. Not to mention having a mix of Hispanic, African-American, Native American, and Albino heritige. Then would you want to give me your opinions?
