Average Student's Chances

Hi everyone. I have a 3.4 GPA, and an 1170 SAT (1710 combined,) 600 on the SAT Math II and U.S. History subject test. I am the president of the Environmental club, member of the ski club for 4 years, philosophy club member, and volunteer at the Veterans Affairs clinic. I've held down two jobs, each for atleast a year, and I just started working at a local pizzeria, I work approximately 20 hours a week.
I recently submitted my Air Force ROTC application and I plan on majoring in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering. My college list includes (NY resident): University of Pittsburgh, Penn State-Univ Park, SUNY UB, SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Geneseo, Colorado- Boulder, Rochester Institute of Tech, and I am still open to suggestions. I would love to hear some feedback!

Can anyone chance me?

Chance you on your lengthy list of colleges or the Air Force ROTC?

Chances on both would be helpful.

Geneseo is pretty damn hard to get into, I wouldn’t count on that one.
Binghamton maybe.
I think you’re in at RIT though.

The school I am most concerned about my chance of admission is the University of Pittsburgh, since that is my top choice. Thanks for the help, HonorsCentaur.

Your GPA is slightly higher but SAT lower than this poster. Pitt has rolling admissions so hopefully you have already sent in your application. Supposedly the first decisions will be coming out shortly after Oct. 9th.
Good Luck!!!

If you are counting on an Air Force scholarship to pay for school, I’d also apply to the Army ROTC. If you just want to join the AF ROTC, then you should have no problem and will probably be able to pick up a 3 year scholarship after the first year (providing you have a decent GPA). Just my opinion…
