What is the avg. transfer GPA for Stony Brook, I looked but cannot find such info. Thank you.

I heard you need at least a 2.5 to get in. I applied as a transfer and got accepted for Fall 2006 with a 3.71 GPA. I am sure that is way highe than the average. I don't know since I attend SUNY Buffalo, unfortunately.

How about a 3.0? Would that be considered a "match" for admission as transfer? A 3.7 is like an A- (92ish)???

will dropping a class look bad? im hoping the college credits i got in hs can compensate for it.

well, the gpa is important but make sure you get a 3.0 with tough courses, cuz like a 2.5 can beat out someone witha 3.0 gpa thats taking garbage courses.

Im a biochem major, I really am not sure what my GPA will end up to be but im guessing a 3.4-3.6 if all goes well. Is this good enough for Stony Brook? And what is an A-? That will probably be my grade for most of courses, about a B+ - A-
