Using the Oct. 05, 06, and 07 math curves as a guide to the difficulty of the test in that month, I'd call that rumor "Bunk" too. The 05 and 06 curves were right in line (nearly identical) with several other SATs given in different months. The 07 test was actually easier than usual (which made the curve less generous). Even if a somewhat easier test is a real problem for you, there's no reason to expect the same in Oct. '08.

lol personally i would trust the korean prep schoos...cuz they seem to send more kids to the ivies than most american schools xD

but i really doubt that scores would be different. Let's say the test is really hard...then you get a good curve. Let's say the test is really easy...then you get a harsh curve. Either way, your score shouldn't change unless a hard test will freak you out to the point you can't take the test anymore or it's so easy that you make a bunch of careless errors...

? lol just take it when you feel well prepared

There was a thread on this exact topic a week or so ago. There, I posted my argument. Basically, calibration data is formed by using results from when the section was previously administered as an experimental section. Therefore, the month doesn't matter.

There are no monthly reports, as far as I know. I've only seen cohort-based score percentiles. The curve data are from released QAS tests; the Oct 05 exam is currently available on the CB web site, disguised as the Official 2008-09 Practice Test.

Those prep schools may be right about the early admission students, but who is taking the test is irrelevant to the curve, and there are no percentile targets.
