Taking chem, us history, math2 sat IIs on saturday, rushing scores to penn, but im flipping out right now cause im looking at the practice questions for penn and i will be LUCKY to get above 700. I think I read somewhere that Penn's policy is: 2 sat2s required, 3 recommended. Is this true? Is taking only 2 a huge deal?

i took math 1, math 2, and chem (yes, all 1-sided and math 1 doesnt count when you take level 2). you are fine with only 2. you said the "practice questions for penn"... if by penn you meant math and chem id say take history and the math or science (just because it shows you are well rounded). if you meant the math or science... its still fine just if possible, try to show your many sides

gah i meant "practice questions for chem" sry

2 is the minimum, but my guidance counselor said the kids who got into penn from my school all did a science, math 2, and literature.

taking two is the min...but most applicants will go over that and proceed to the recommeneded requirement. taking three will put you on the safe side. math II, lit, and chem/ or bio, are usually the more common tests taken.

i'm taking USH and Math II.....omg i'm takin tomorrow and the day after off to study for them. i know...pathetic

just my opinion which is different from others... i think solid mid 700s on math and us is more impressive than 2 solid 700s and 1 600.

I agree, anything below a 700 starts to look bad.

I'm sticking with two SAT IIs: 800 Math II and 800 Chem. Since I'm applying to Engineering, I believe that should suffice. I guess I could have taken Physics and received a good score, but it doesn't seem that important to have 3?

if thats a question nj azn, i would say 780+ or just dont bother

Um, i have math 2 760...should i retake it?!

if you think you can get an 800 then yes, but to retake it and get like a 780 then no... also, if you have taken calc and have a 5 of the AP then no... just my opinion (this would be for wharton because they love high math scores)... for college no ... and probably for engineering

probably for engineering??? ****, I'm applying to the engineering school. I got 5 on calc bc, and I'm pretty sure I can get 800 if I prepare..but the test is Saturday. Do you think 760 doesn't look good for engineering?

sorry for the foul language..

with a 5 on BC, I think so... I mean I have no idea what or stats are or am i an admissions officer. AND i am going through the same process as you so no experience but with a 5 on BC I (the insignificant person) don't think you need to
but what was your math on the sat or act (or both)

I got 790 on sat I math... then 680 the second time when I didn't try at all..and focused only on reading and writing. usually get 800 but I'm okay with a 790..

then i wouldn't retake it but again, its up to you

penn also accepts act in place of sat II's tats wut i did..even tho i didn't do well on them..
