"Awaiting" listed in UChicago Account?

I recently submitted my Chicago application for ED1 via the Common App. The account states that:

"We are still in the process of processing and matching the large amount of material we receive each year with individual students’ application files. The option to view which materials we have received from you will be active soon; in the meantime, rest assured that we are processing your materials and matching them with your file as swiftly (but accurately) as we are able to do so!

Please rest assured that this processing time is a normal part of our reading and review process. We will reach out to you via email once our materials checklist is active, and give you plenty of time to resubmit materials at no penalty to you if something didn’t make it our way."

While information regarding my application is not present, there is a section labeled “Financial Aid Checklist,” and there are multiple financial forms that are listed as “awaiting.” I submitted the FAFSA form, and two “awaiting” items are “Parents’ 2016 Tax Returns” as well as “Parents’ W-2 Forms.” I believe both of those are included in the FAFSA? I’m unsure whether the Financial Aid Checklist is not updating (due to influx of applications) or whether this is a separate category (this is the only category with any recognition so far). Should I expect this to update or will I need to submit the W-2 Forms as well as the Tax Returns separately, and would that need to be done directly through the Chicago account?

I’m assuming that the rest will eventually update and say that my application was received once the data is matched, as the account states.

Admissions and Financial Aid departments are separate and process independently.

You should see an updated list on both in the next couple of weeks which should drive your action.

No - in addition to the FAFSA form, you need to send signed tax returns (including all schedules) and parent’s W2 forms in separately. You can upload a scanned version via the UChicago portal or mail copies to them.
