Not sure if anyone else has seen this..but why would one college be able to give me a Pell and a Perkins and the other not? I live in NY. Why would one give me TAP in the award and another not..Im confused as to why?

Now I noticed the college changed my FASFA and I cant add colleges…hmm?

Perkins is a school based program and funding varies by school. Not all schools participate.

TAP is for NY residents. The school has to be in NY.

Pell should be the same for all schools. What changes were made to your FAFSA? Could they have impacted your eligibility for Pell?

You need to talk to the financial aid office that changed your FAFSA and find out why. It could be that they used the retrieval tool to check against actual tax data which changed your EFC, and if that is the case, you could be ineligible for PELL and your aid packages will change at all schools. This happens when you use estimates or put in numbers on FAFSA that do not match your actual 2012 return. The fin aid directors are allowed and are supposed to make those changes if they see them. So do check with that office that made the changes and find out exactly what is going on. Mistakes do happen. If the changes don’t make sense to you, maybe shoot a PM to Kelsmom and get some information on what is happening here.

Perkins money is only available to some schools and in some amounts. It is not an entitlement. Schools “buy” into the loan fund, so it varies what each school has to offer in that money. TAP is only available to schools in the state of NY. PELL should be the same at each school unless your student is looking at commuter schools where the cost starts playing a role in how much PELL you are allowed to get.
