Do we need to include copies of award certificates in our application?

bump.............

No. If they reallllly want to double check that you're telling the truth, they'll ask you to produce proof of the award. And they won't - the important awards can all be cross-checked without you, and on the various common awards you have, they just depend on your honesty.

I'm assuming you're a junior? Getting started on your apps early, eh? ;)

hehe, indeed I am.
It's never too early to start, although so far all I've done are the essays.

Wow, that's very proactive of you. I ended up doing some stuff last minutes, and it was fairly stressful, so I can see why you're doing your app this early.

Man, I did my Harvard essay 30 minutes before running to fed-ex...

As for me, the only awards I placed certificates for were those that were nationally or state won. Not because they couldn't easily check them (things such as Intel), but because it was that extra "Ooh" factor I wanted. Not sure if it helped, but why not. Most awards, it seems, don't need to be checked and are taken with a certain aire of trust and understanding from both the college and the student. Just.. Don't padd your resume, its not worth it. Good luck!

I assume if your "awards" dont match w what would be expected from counselor and teacher recs they might look into it.

I wrote my essay on an experience from last summer, so its good i didnt start early. Not that i considered it- writing is better under pressure.
