Away from Arizona

I am a freshman at the University of Arizona and I want out. I would really like to transfer after this year and am seeking advice. I am taking a serious academic courseload and find the classes mildly interesting but pretty easy. My real problem is with the other students, they are all immature and out of touch rich kids who party nearly every night of the week. My roommate is in remedial classes. I have met some cool and intelligent people but they are few and far between. I am taking my academics very seriously; I spend hours a day studying and I have taken the time to build good relations with my professors. I would like to try to transfer to William and Mary ideally but will try for UVA and UCLA as well. If anyone transferred to these schools or know alot about this subject have no reservations in replying.

I am transferring from that school right now. I just finished my Freshman year and instead of going back for my Sophomore year I am attending a CC because they offer more transfer courses.

U of A does not help with transfer at all. Do not even request to them you want to transfer because they will make things worse. Just get all A’s, and do everything your self.

And I know what you mean, U of A sucks.

OOS transfer is very difficult for UCLA. And if you’re fortunate enough to get in, COA is 45k/yr, and FA is unlikely.

Does UCLA even take soph transfers? I though it was just juniors.

^^Could be, I haven’t looked.

Its funny you assume I am not from California. I am from Tucson. You were right the do not accept sophs. Does anyone have suggestions for schools similar to W@M that does accept sophs?

@walteral1990.

I’m pretty much the same situation (albeit Penn State, not UofA).
Like you said, the kids here are “out of touch” with academics and could care less.

The difference is, I waited too long (already a sophomore) to realize I want out.
Still transferring out though.

Good luck.

No assumption, I read this:

Cool beans thanks for the thorough help. Do you possibly know of any schools similar to W@M that deserve further research? Good luck BMWdude
