<p>It’s narrow minded and really only applies to the relatively small subset of overachiever kids who have the stereotypical “going away to college” experience. I mean, I just graduated from high school and I’m sheltered too, but I’m pretty sure that most students commute to college, kids face a lot of the same hells as adults (they’re not insulated from the “real world”), and high school students hardly ever get internships. </p>
