Awkward situations

Today I was leaving school and a graduated senior said hi to me. I said hi back then he started talking to this other kid. Then he looked away and started talking to someone else near me. It turns out he said hi to the other kid and not me!

Have you viewed the awkward interactions thread?

I’m not too fond of that either though.

LOL that happens all the time.

Sometimes, the opposite happens to me. People say “Hi” to me, and I don’t know that it was to me…

You know what else is awkward? When you go in to hug someone and you end up turn your heads the same way, so your cheeks are touching and your heads are kinda squished.

random stories, though they’re not a really big deal because I’m pretty self-conscious:

 • Long story short, uncontrollably laughing in inappropriate situations with people you don’t know very well, either due to a misunderstanding, being surprisingly immature, or just getting slap-happy all of a sudden
 • Random eye contact with someone of the opposite gender over a long period of time, even though neither of you know the other well or find them attractive (in that way)
 • Needing to turn around in the hallway and walk back all of a sudden but not wanting to appear extremely random, so taking the long way around and walking more than you need to
 • Running into the same person outside of school more than once in different places
 • Not hearing what someone’s saying in a one-on-one conversation after you’ve said ‘what?’ more than twice

saying bye then walking in the same direction lol

most of you guys nailed it…

While you’re waiting on the bus or subway and you’re alone and the seats face some random stranger you don’t want to look uup because then you’d be staring at them

when you catch someone staring at you

after school when you walk past someone in an empty hallway

realizing you went the wrong way in the hallway then having to turn back…

waiting next to a teacher or friend or counselor while they’re talking to someone else and you have to speak to them

I don’t have awkward moments. Much too important for them to occur.

JK on the real, they happen on a rare basis.

I once had an awkward moment, just to see how it felt.

my very awkwurd moment: This happened during a breast exam… I’m very ticklish =/

^ LOL. I am very ticklish too. So when I got facials and a massage…

This teacher at my school, he’s like in his 50s/60s was like "Hey!’
I didn’t say anything for a minute or so (brain freeze) then I was like, “Oh, hey.”
That was… awkward. I don’t even say hey to teachers.

You get facials and massages?!?!?!

daayyuummm

My life is a series of awkward moments :/

^ditto

When you make eye contact with people in class. I’m already an awkward person so I look down and everything and it’s just unecessary

My chemistry teacher always hits me up when I’m at my locker and it’s kind of uncool

When people walk up to me and classify me as ___'s sister. It’s ok though since I have no personal identity of my own

^you don’t make eye contact with people in class?

It happens to me all the time (with no explanatin other than really bad luck): when the room is full of people and really noisy, but in the exact moment you say something very embarrassing/inappropriate to a friend everybody turns quiet and hear you.

Well after reading the first sentence… yes lol. Unless that’s not what you mean

no that’s what i mean. please clarify? now i’m confused

ahahahahahaha, lennin, I can totally relate!!!

I never thought future would be an awkward/shy person IRL. D:

I mean I do make eye contact but I’m just a naturally shy person haha

okay that makes sense
