<p>I'm thinking about attending Arizona State and have been looking at options for a major. I think I'd like to go the business route, but I don't really have any one specific interest. I'm not very good in math, so stuff like Accounting, Finance and Economics probably wouldn't be best for me. I was maybe thinking about Marketing, but I'm not sure if that would be right for me either.</p>
<p>Anyway, my question is, would a B.A. in Business w/Communication Emphasis benefit me once I get out into the working world or is it worthless? I know it doesn't have a specific area of study, but maybe it'd allow me to go several different routes upon graduating?</p>
<p>Any insight into this would be helpful and appreciated.</p>

<p>Sounds pretty worthless to me. If by “Business” degree you mean business admin., that is known as pretty much the most worthless business degree there is because it is too general and the things you need to learn to be a successful business “administrator” you learn on the job, not the classroom. And communications, well that is up there with women’s studies in terms of worthless majors, unless you mean some sort of technical type communication, but if that were the case i don’t see how business would compliment it at all. </p>
<p>Side note: you mentioned you don’t want to do accounting and econ because of the math. You should do a little research. Unless you take the quantitative economics path, it is more theoretical than mathematical. Accounting math involves four VERY hard concepts of math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Thats it. Accounting is about processes and organizing numbers, not really doing math.</p>
<p>domrom1 is correct about the lack of any challenging math (calculus) in most tracks of economics and all types of accounting. However, if you are not an analytical person, I would consider doing Business w/Marketing emphasis. You use many of the same skills as a communications major while having much better job prospects.</p>

<p>Some chick from ASU did a porno. Huge uproar about it from alumni who claimed she was tarnishing the brand and wanted to take away her scholarship. Par for the course, if you ask me.</p>
