Communication Studies or Business? (Transfer)

Hello everyone,
I am currently studying business at a Big 10 school (hence the name), but I am hoping to transfer to another Big 10 school where I feel more at home. However, at this school that I hope to transfer to (we’ll call it school B), I cannot receive a BBA because my BBA prerequisite courses did not transfer which would cause me to have to apply once I am there and have to go to college an extra year (which my parents and I do not wish for) because their program is a strict 3-years. So, at School B (keep in mind - this is my dream school and I was very close to choosing it last year), I would be restricted to study in the Science and Arts college - probably a major in Communications and minor in Economics and apply to possibly minor in Business if accepted into the business minor program. So my question is - can I still get jobs as a Communication Studies major (School B is highly accredited and a more prestigious university than my current school) or am I better off staying at school to major in Business (however, I do not like my current school and am really hoping on transferring). I am not 100% on what I want to do in my career, but I am leaning more towards Advertising/Marketing, which Communications is applicable to, and I would most likely get my MBA post-grad as well)

Soo… long story short:
Communications vs. BBA??

Thank you!

Of course you can. And if the uptick in alumni network and/or brand is enough of a difference, it can be a big help.

However. You are correct in that communication major is a viewed a bit softer than some others. IE finance.

However, an MBA can help.

Note, top MBA programs will prefer to see some experience first.

After your first job or two, it will mean much less.

Remember, ultimately your life is a unique situation and your ultimate career situation will be a result of you.
