B+ in an Elective

Not to sound like a stereotypical hysterical CCer who got a B for the first time, but I'm a little worried because this class is directly related to what I want to major in.

I'm a sophomore, and I took a one-trimester elective (organic chemistry) that's well known in my school for being very challenging. Typically only juniors take it but I decided to take it as a sophomore to challenge myself. I was indeed challenged (obviously, lol) and ended up with a 89.4 (B+).

I want to major in chemical engineering, so will this B+ hurt me much? This elective has a part 2, so I'll be taking that later this year, and hopefully I can pull an A- there. Would that help? I get A's in my regular chemistry classes as well.

Me too.

Does it affect your academic GPA? If so, then it’ll lower your GPA but no big deal really. Don’t stress. You can just try to explain how you wanted to challenge yourself in your college essay.

Yes, it affects my GPA, but not by that much because it’s only worth 1 credit (my regular chemistry classes are each 3 credits).

You do sound like the typical hysterical cc’er. Seriously, dont worry about it, kid.
