B in Intro Biology Lab

So the grades have rolled in and the jig is up. I have a B in Intro Biology Lab (the partner to the lecture course) which is a two-credit class. I have an A in the lecture course which is also two credits. My question is, how bad is this? I didn't too much about it until I started reading posts here. The opinion seemed to be a B in a major science course is pretty much a major taboo. Would you say they are correct in that respect? I'm a biology/chemistry major and a freshman if that helps at all. My current GPA is a 3.97 and my science GPA is a 4.03.

1) I don't think the A+ you must have for that 4.03 counts for med school
2) If you really have a 3.97 somehow even with a B, then you should be more than fine

A lot of posters here have mentioned that they received a C or two and still got into good med schools

Are you sure you read the posts on this forum?

The opinion seems to be that posters who complain about a B when they have a 3.97 GPA should be banned.

^ What norcalguy said.

Either you're a troll or you're completely delusional. Either way, you're making me nauseous.

College Transcripts and Midyear Grades

Hi! I had some questions regarding recent developments in my senior year. My school has a program with a local college in which seniors are required to take two college classes, one of which is a mandatory Freshman English seminar, bearing college credit. The other class is up to you to decide, provided it fits in with your schedule. I got placed in a class that had a 60 average, for 42 years straight, according to the professor. I took my final today, and I am scared out of my wits, don't know if I failed or not.

My midyear grades for school are perfectly fine; I have always had a virgin 4 GPA and thankfully, my school grades have not suffered. My senior courseload is the most rigorous. However, this year, I have taken AP Calculus BC, a subject that I have difficulty in. Unfortunately, with all my devotion to Calculus, my college class fell in the crossroads. My school will be sending a separate college transcript along with my midyear report. I have an A in my college English class, but as for the other class, who knows? Should I send an explanatory letter to colleges? Any suggestions are welcome!

flabbergasted, go start your own thread.

sharpe, cry me a river. Your 3.97 is fine.

yes, cry me a river and jump in it..

sorry...that was rather hostile..but seriously dude..chill.

im a chem major with a 3.59 (44 credits; sophomore year)
ecc's: volunteering in hospital; doing research in biochem
i got both B's in my intro to bio 1 and intro to bio 2 :(((
however, i've gotten all A's for my chemistry classes so far
will these B's keep me out from the top medical schools?
if i get an A in molecular cell and biochem, will it balance the B's and improve my chances for med school?

how do you have a 4.03 in college?????? TROLL

^in this troll's defense, he can go to Cornell.

Some colleges have an A+ = 4.3 system.

^^Bull. So then an A- would equal a 3.7? That's gross.

A- is a 3.7 everywhere I've seen (including my own college).

Yeah an A- = 3.7 everywhere.
