B on my transcript

I am a California Community College transfer student and I am super paranoid about getting into my top schools, UCLA and UCI at the moment because I am not sure if my application looks strong.
I have a 3.91 GPA and the only thing bringing it down is a B in one of my major classes. I was wondering if I should explain that B on my application in the comments box (I got it because I bombed the final, for it was the first final I have ever taken)? Or would that be annoying and make me seem whiny?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

A single B is fine. In fact, the resulting 3.91 is fabulous. Relax.

And whatever you do, don’t appear so obsessed with perfection and on the road to burnout that you explain it in the comments box.

(And even if it were a good idea to explain it, it most certainly wouldn’t be a good idea to whine about the final.)

What is your major?

My major is Political Science.

@Mont2LA Wouldn’t you guarantee for the TRANSFER ADMISSION GUARANTEE program to UCI at least

@BucketsUCSC I do have a guarantee at UCI, so I have a safety school, but I really want to go to UCLA, and they are incredibly picky. That is why I am worried about the B on my transcript.

Don’t worry about it.
