b.s. mechE to m.s. IE

I am and undergraduate mechanical engineering student and think i have come to the realization that i would rather do industrial engineering. Is it possible to get a masters in Industrial engineering after graduation with a bs in mechanical? If i were to switch right now i would be a whole year behind and a whole year of tuition wasted. I would rather do 5 years total and end up with a M.S. in IE rather than 5 years total and a B.S. in IE. But i don't know so please fire away with some advice or past experiences!

Should be possible without much issue. IE might be more mathy than you’re used to, but otherwise you should be fine. There’s not too much specific knowledge you need going in.

It seemed like a lot of the IE grad (masters and PhD) students I met did Math or EE for undergrad, relatively few did IE undergrad actually.
