B School Strengh Vs. Academic Prestige

Well I believe I will be attending Texas' business school (McCombs), which is one of the top business schools in the country. However, I am wondering if I made the right decision and choosing it over USC California and NYU (although I hate NYU, lol). Although Texas' business program is just a little bit better, USC is a significantly better school overall than Texas (if i switch my major). But then again Texas is at least 20,000 cheaper (cheaper than that If I qualify for instate, which there is a good chance). My parents could pay for USC, but I don't think it is worth it if I do business. But what If I decide not to do business?

I have heard that your undergraduate school does not play a huge role in graduate school admissions, so If I changed my major would it really matter that I went to Texas? I do however think that it DOES matter for business since you will get a job immediately afterwards, in which case both USC and Texas are strong.

What do you think?

P.S. I will be applying for Texas' Business Honors Program next year. I also think I would be happy at Austin, although I wonder if there would be a lot of personal attention. I don't know about USC.

Thanks in advance!

UTA and USC are about the same, but Cal is better than both of them.

Are you talking about in business or overall prestige? By the way, Cal does not have an undergrad business program that I am aware of.

Other replies are appreciated.

Thanks!

Haas is undergrad. And I was talking about overall "prestige"

My advice would be to not second-guess yourself. UT Austin is a great school (even if a bit big lol), and it's a bargain in-state. I don't know very much about USC, but you'd have a lot of options at UT if you decide not to pursue business. Although I don't see how it's relevant, UCB does have an undergrad business program, but you have to apply for it as a sophomore, and you're not guaranteed to get in.
