"B" students

Anyone else out there? I know I'm one. I feel like such a minority on this website, but I still find it helpful nonetheless. Nothing against straight a students either (I'm friends with many), but I just want a thread where a 3.9 gpa is celebrated and cherished, not complained about.

Hi!!! Thank you for bringing some semblance of normalcy to this godforsaken place.

Haha, thanks. I’m not applying to an ivy league either. Life is more than Harvard.

As much as I would love a 4.0, I’m just not motivated enough and I don’t think I would deserve it anyways. So I agree. :)

Well, I diiiid apply to Dartmouth… not that that’s happening or anything.

I’m a B student. Honestly, it doesn’t bother me. I just don’t like overstressing myself.

There’s more to college apps than GPA, but it is a major factor -___- That stresses me out a LOT. But be amazing in sports, EC’s, it’s all good :)

3.76 weighted GPA B student who is accepted to her first choice college… that’s ranked a lot higher than many of my “smarter” classmates’ choices! Relax, all will work out just fine.

Holla! B students represent!

This place is enough to drive me insane sometimes. Yesterday there was a thread in “College Admissions” asking if getting a B+ would mark the end of his/her Ivy League ambitions -_____-

Ive also seen threads of middle schoolers asking about their gpas…wow. But I’m happy to know you all are out there! When I’m remembering when I was 16/17, I want to remember the good times and not the number of APs I had. :P

Lol! I can’t even remember my middle school gpa…-__-

Here here! But mine is lack of motivation to do well in classes that I don’t really care about… I try hard at the subjects I like because I enjoy doing the work. I rush through the classes that I don’t like because I just don’t like spending time on that. I still have a solid gpa but I can’t wait until college so I can study what I want! Grades really aren’t everything. Sure, without my 4.0 I won’t get into Harvard/MIT. But those are not my dream schools so it doesn’t matter!

I basically got straight B’s, never a C and a few A’s thoughout high school. When I applied to Colleges this fall I had a 3.6, and average SAT scores. I found out I got into all of the schools I applied to. They weren’t Ivy but they were all good schools. I got a couple of nice merit scholarships too. It gets frustrating sometimes when people that are rank above me take easier classes, but in the end I’m sure my hard work will pay off.

I saw someone post how the have a higher GPA than their “smart” students and that happened to me to. I was talking to my guidance counselor to take away an AP class (they stuck we with six saying I shouldn’t get out when after one week of school I was overloaded :/) and I found out I was ranked 7 in my class, I have a 4.2W/3.87UW GPA after getting a D in a class and I was shocked that many of the braniacs
had lower GPAs than me. So not every smart person has a high GPA…

B students represent! whoop whoop.
