Hey there,
If you’re on this website, you probably got a little overwhelmed by how high-achieving everyone is. I did too. I’ve never been that scholarly. I’ve never done an internship- my one job has been a minimum wage retail position. My grades aren’t that great. I’ve never been the smart kid, and felt extremely inadequate compared to my peers.
But guess what? I got into a college. I will get into many more. I’m going into a field that I love, and that’s going to make me money, regardless of where I went to school.
There’s nothing stopping a “B-student” from being successful. Even if you don’t get into any college at all, even if you start at community college and work your way up. Where you go and even what your grades are don’t determine who you are as a person or even if you’ll be successful later in life, because honestly: in 20 years your work experience will matter way more than your grades. If you want to be a lawyer or a CEO, or a mechanical engineer, you don’t have to go to Yale or Stanford to do it.
There’s a million ways for you to achieve success. Even though we might not have the best grades, that doesn’t mean that we lack intelligence, or other skills to achieve success. So…don’t give up on your dreams!
