Hello,
I may also apply for these programs. These programs are very difficult to get into, however they are easier than BS/MD programs because the competition isn’t as fierce. Maintaining a 3.5 GPA is easier said than done. It is not easy, however if you work hard you should have no problem maintaining the GPA. The NYU programs are not too difficult to get into, but the UPenn programs are quite competitive. In the end, you are saving one to two years (two for Case Western) of college and tuition and you can go through undergrad without having to worry about beefing up your resume.

I have a friend who is attending UOP’s pharmacy program and my sister got into UOP’s dental program 4 years ago. I will say that the dental programs are not as competitive as the medical programs but more competitive than the pharmacy programs. You would need to provide some stats for me to truly chance you based on my experiences with friends. Drop me a PM if you’re not comfortable posting publicly.

do u think i would have a chance at a bs-ba/dds program
even at the lighter/less competitive schools like the nyu or the adelphi/nyu program?
Stats:

3.8 weighted gpa
1810 on first Sat
(but im gonna take it two more times-im aiming for the 2100 range
the 1810 was just like a trial run)

2 APs:
Calc BC and Bio

EC’s:
100+ Volunteering hours (if it means anything)
NHS
Cultural Club

could i get into any bs/dds program at all or would i have to take the normal route for dentistry where i just go to any school and take the DAT after taking pre req classes and a bachelor’s degree in like bio or something?

i got into UOP’s accelerated dental program, my advice is definitely raise ur SAT score and get some dentist shadowing hours (it will also help a lot when ans Qs such as why dentistry), and maybe more AP courses (?)

ur volunteering works will help by showing the schools u like helping ppl :)
