Ba/ma

Hey all

Could somebody tell me which major programs and undergrad studies are compatible with the BA/MA programs? A list is preferable
Thanks

You should go by interest too rather than purely picking some BA/MA program out of the bag. For most, you need to apply around junior year with a certain GPA. Check out any majors you might be interested in to see if they have a BA/MA section here:
[Departments and Programs - BU 2009-10 Undergraduate Bulletins](http://www.bu.edu/bulletins/und/item13.html)

And how would you know how I’m picking programs? For your information, I’m keeping all my options open and would like to learn as much about Boston U’s special programs as I can. Thanks for the link.

What I am saying is that giving you a list of EVERY BA/MA program isn’t particularly helpful, since you obviously aren’t going to be interested in every field. Of course, you probably do have a bunch of interests. Still, some people are more into natural sciences, others social sciences, etc. Since BU is huge, it’s tough to just give an outright list of every one without you mentioning any specific fields. Thus, it’s easier for you to refer to the link through specific majors. And even then, if your major doesn’t have a BA/MA program in place, you shouldn’t not persue it because of that idea. You probably could still figure something out down the line.

In essence, it’s more important to explore which major you want for a BA before you think too much about the whole MA portion since you usually can’t even apply until at least the end of sophomore year.

I know about applying at the end of the sophomore year. Unfortunately, there arent a whole lot of BA/MA programs… but I’m still very interested.
I have another question: I know you work towards a BA before you join the BA/MA program, but is it possible to double major and go into the program, so at the end, you could potentiall earn two bachelor degrees and 1 masters?
