I'm looking to apply to liberal arts schools offering a BA in theatre... not neccessarily acting but general theatre.. perhaps offering a concentration in directing. I am also looking to double major, so nothing too intense. Suggestions?

My suggestion is to use the search function on this forum and search for BA Theater programs and/or read as many threads on the Theater/Drama Majors forum and you will learn a great deal. Then, come back with much more specific questions than which colleges have theater as many do. Further, searching for colleges goes beyond “which have a BA in theater” because you must have personal selection criteria for colleges, let alone your qualifications matter in suggesting schools for you. If I told you that Brown is good for theater but your qualifications are not in the ballpark for Brown, that would not be useful, nor would it if you wanted a very small school or on the West Coast.

right at the top here is 'the 12 part archived thread" that has tons of info, lists of colleges, etc…you could get a good start there.

It’s been recommended many times before, but I suggest finding a copy of The Directory of Theatre Training Programs, now in its 11th edition. It contains reasonably detailed entries, by state, for every theatre program in the country and in Canada. In the back, there is a chart showing which schools offer each kind of degree program. I’d suggest looking first for schools which, as soozievt suggested, meet your geographical and size requirements, and which do not have BFA degrees. Many liberal arts colleges have wonderful BA programs, and so do many universities.

Here’s a link to the directory: [Theatre Directories - Summer Theatres - Regional Theatres - Theatre Training Programs](http://www.theatredirectories.com/)

Good luck with your search.
