BA vs BS

Hi,

Is there a difference to employers in today’s world between a BA and BS? I’m trying to decide whether to apply ED to Harvey Mudd or Amherst College, as I’m an athletic recruit. HMC offers a BS in CS & Math, whereas at Amherst I’d double major in CS & Math. Obviously the former has a better overall STEM program, though from what I’ve heard is much more academically intense / has lower avg GPAs. I’d like to keep my options as open as possible (finance, tech, etc.) and would like as many alumni connections to the east and west coasts if possible.

Thanks in advance!

BA vs BS does not matter to employers, at least in the context of CS/Math.

The letters that a college or university uses to name its undergrad degree(s) do not matter at all. What matters is the courses that you take, the grades that you earn, the career related jobs/internships/research projects that you have, and the recommendations you earn from your professors/employers/internship supervisors.
