So I've narrowed down my college selection to Babson and Lafayette. I've done an overnight at both but I loved both of the colleges equally. I do want to end up in Business eventually sooo.. Would it be better to go to Babson and study primarily business courses or get a true liberal arts education from Lafayette?
Please let me know your thoughts and opinions!

Both are great schools but they are very different. For full disclosure, my D is a sophomore at Lafayette and absolutely loves the school and is getting a great education. We also looked at Babson with my S who studied business as an undergrad and liked it (he did not attend Babson because he decided that he wanted a school that also had majors outside of business). What it should boil down to is what you want to study. Lafayette has no business majors (it has economics) and Babson is all business. Economics is a liberal arts course of study while a business school has classes like accounting, finance, management, marketing etc. Only you can make the choice.

I agree that both are great schools. And for full disclosure my grandson attends Babson as a freshman, likes it very much and is doing extremely well. I would try to treat your decision by starting with the assumption that either choice will be a very good one and that you can’t go wrong with either. Having said that i would list the major differences and attributes of the schools and begin to rate your preference for each attribute. For example, geography …would you rather be close to Boston or Pennsylvania location. Student body…Babson more international…Lafayette more preppy …Babson …a curriculum that emphasizes theory, practice and action…many assignments are purposely group assignments so that students learn to work together in teams. Babson also emphasizes and requires integration of liberal arts Into an overall business education. Look at the catalogue…student handbook for both schools and you should notice major differences. Which seem to interest you more? What are Lafayette’s requirements…what are Babsons requirements? Which interest you more? Try to define other variables that you are interested in make an effort to rate your feelings about which school would be better on those dimensions.
If you have specific questions …write again with those…Good luck and congratulations on having two great choices.
