Ya stupid question i know, but just wanting to know the main difference between the two and the class requirements for each

Bachelor of Science in general has a greater credit requirement and may ask that you take more advanced classes to fill that requirement than you would need to for an A.B.

B.S. requires an extra rec for Brown.

The main difference between a B.A. and B.S. is that in a Bachelor of Arts degreee, you are required to take more Liberal Arts/Humanities classes. In a Bachelor of Science degree, you are required to take more Science/Mathematics classes. It's strictly a personal preference.

That's not exactly true at Brown Thomas. You can complete an A.B. and still take mostly science classes. The only difference is in the number of courses you have to take for your major. The Sc.B. requires more courses (normally all of which are at a higher level than the courses required for the A.B.).

a few of the science concentrations (like biology) give you the option of getting an A.B. or Sc.B. (jamesah1's description is dead on)

some, like neuroscience are mandatory Sc.B.

others (like history...for obvious reasons) can only be an A.B.
