bachelors and university choices in neurology

Hello!

I’m currently at a community college in California and after about a year of consideration I’ve decided to pursue a PhD in neuroscience and go into research. So here are my questions;

How important is it that you get your bachelors degree in neuroscience? Say vs. a degree in biology? I’ve been considering double majoring in biology and psychology.

When applying to grad schools how much weight is put on which university you got your B.S. at? Before I decided to change my goal to becoming a neuroscientist I was sure I wanted to transfer to Humboldt State University as I loved the location and the school. Now that I’m aiming to get into grad schools I’m having serious doubts. Should I switch gears and go for more prestigious schools? Schools with neurology departments such as UCLA, UCSC, USC, UCI, and USDC? Will going to a UC make a dramatic difference in my training and chances of getting into a good graduate program?

Thank you for your time =)
