Hello Everyone,

I just completed my first semester of college, and it seems that I am failing a course. Does failing a course permanently doom your chances of getting into medical school? Should I stop pursuing this goal?

Thank You.

One F will not disqualify from ever attending medical.

That said, a F is a terrible way to start your college academic career and has damaged your GPA.

Figure out why you failed the class, accept responsibility for your failure, and take action to improve whatever skill or remediate whatever deficit that caused you to fail in the first place.

You have another 3 years ahead of you to improve your GPA. Do well. Don’t flunk any more classes.
