So I’m a straight A student. But I stink at AP Testing. for some reason, i have no idea. I got a 5 and a 4 on these other ap exams, but a 3 on euro and a 2 in world. (i almost had a heart attack…). Are my chances to an Ivy crushed? I do a lot of volunteer work too
Nobody here knows. There are a lot of factors that go into admissions, so the marginal cost of a couple botched AP exam scores is hopefully pretty low. The only way to find out is to apply to some Ivy League universities and see how you do. Everyone on here is just going to end up speculating, anyway.
With that being said, high AP exam scores can be a fairly good proxy for being able to cut it at a top university, at least in my experience. shrugs
I was under the impression that you send your AP scores after you get admitted, not before. I think colleges just want to see that you have taken them.
There is room to include the scores on the Common Application, as well as on other apps.
There are a lot of variables, if you’re below par in one aspect step back and take a holistic look at everything and focus in on something else. It’s not good to focus singularly on what you might be lacking in so, try to build yourself up in other areas. It’s the big picture that matters
