So im in BU and my first semester I got a 3.35 which in the BU grading system is a B+ and its explanation is excellent (to BU). Yes they are widely known for being a tough grading school and deflation....

New York University
Cornell University
Boston college
Duke
University of Chicago
University of Pennsylvania
Northwestern University
University of Notre Dame
Georgetown University
vanderbilt

These were some of the universities I want to apply, as a junior do i still have a chance?

Of course you still have a chance, but it’s a bit uphill from here. Just work a lot harder next semester. Don’t forget to focus on other parts of your application, too. What you could do is take courses next summer and the following winter (if you can manage them) to try and get a higher overall GPA just by taking a few more credits (and doing very well in the classes).

Your GPA could be much lower, that’s not bad. Since you’re apply for your junior year you have two more semesters that will count toward your application… you’re fine assuming you don’t mess up in the next two semesters and just keep doing better than before.

thanks yes ill definetly do better the next semesters, im an international student so everything was new to me. Will taking summer classes at Harvard help? or i should just take summer classes at BU?

you should probably just stick with taking summer classes at BU, it will probably be easier than trying to take classes at Harvard since you’re already a BU student (you’ll get priority in picking class, where as at Harvard you’ll probably to apply to their summer program). In the end, they will both contribute to your GPA the same amount.
