So after freshman year I took two subject tests and didn't do that great...690 on Bio-M and 620 on Math 1. But sophomore year I took Math 2 and got an 800, and this year I am planning to take Chemistry and Spanish and am pretty sure I will get at least 750 on both, probably higher. Now for a lot of schools I probably just won't send those bad scores since I will have 3 others, but my top choice is Yale which I know does not accept score choice. My question is, assuming the rest of my application is up to par (SAT, GPA, ECs, etc.) and my other subject tests are also in the standard range for Yale, will those two bad freshman year scores end up hurting me?

I really really doubt it. I can’t say for sure, after all I’m not Yale admissions, but seriously I don’t see how it could. First of all 690 on Bio isn’t even that bad, and second, hardly anyone takes these tests Freshman year and I’m sure they’ll see and recognize that.

I wouldn’t worry.

Thanks. Yeah I think the math score won’t really matter much since I took Math 2 and did way better, and the bio isn’t that bad as you said. I was just a little unsure because they’re not in the typical range of a school like Yale.
