bad gpa, good lsat, chances?

Hey guys,

Im a junior at Penn State (Smeal) majoring in economics and minoring in business law. My gpa is 2.7 (but my minor gpa is currently 4.0 if that helps at all). I already took my lsat and scored a 164, i studied for a few months before I took it and dont plan on taking it again. Would I have a good chance to get into Brooklyn Law School? Would I have a good chance at better schools (and if so which ones)?

Thanks

I’d be interested in finding out as well

Only your official LSDAS GPA matters. A 164 isn’t bad, you can probably get in somewhere, but you’re going to have to do something to convince schools to overlook your GPA. I’d do some research at Chishu.com to target schools that take your GPA/LSAT combo, and see if there’s anyone there you’re willing to pay $30,000+ a year.

I tried finding chishu.com but couldn’t. What is that?

Me too. I’m interested in finding out as well.

USMC Jim probably meant to refer to Chiashu, which is pretty out of date by now.

Try this one: LSATGPA

So yes you have a great chance. But I’d caution against attending non NYU/Columbia NYC schools, as your regional market is the most competitive in the US.
