Bad grades in high school and looking to change

It's early in the morning as I begin this introduction thread for CC. Four hours ago, I went to and departed my high school for the final time. Still processing it. Wow. I joined this forum the other day after years of lurking because I wanted to tell my story and hopefully receive some guidance from other posters as to the path I ought to follow for college.

You see, I barely graduated. My cumulative GPA was a 2.0. I've been performing poorly in school for as long as I can remember and I'm tired of it. It's time for me to dramatically shift myself into the direction I need to go for maximum success. Once I step foot into the local community college this autumn, I'm starting off right so that I can finish right and give my parents (and me) something―someone―to be proud of. With this message, I launch for myself the "GPA project." I will start with a goal of a minimum of 3.0 for the first semester of college, then gradually work my way higher.

I'm not certain whether anyone will read or respond to this. What's important is that I've written it, as it marks my first step towards greatness.
