Bad HS GPA but Good College GPA Transfer

I am going to try to transfer after my sophomore year in college, but my HS record is bad (~3.5 gpa). However, my college GPA will be a 3.9 or so. Is there any hope with that record of transferring into the likes of Penn, MIT, Yale or Stanford?

SAT’s, recs?

sat , ec , rec

Well I was more asking as a theoretical question. I remember I saw a year ago or so a thread with the same subject with people talking about how they transfered to really good college x from y with bad HS records but did well in college. I thought I would start something like that and ask the question if it is technically possible, or if the HS record is just a limiting factor.

Looking at your other posts, you have already posted on other discussions that you have applied and been accepted as a transfer (ex: NYU).

Here, you say that you are “planning to transfer after my sophomore year.”

My question to you is; what is going on? Did you really apply to NYU and get in, or are you just lying about the whole thing?

Well I applied and got in, but I don’t know if I am going to go yet. If I go I will only go and stay there, I don’t want to transfer twice. But if I decide I don’t want to go, I will try to transfer to one of the above schools.

Plus if you notice I made this thread yesterday, but I only found out that I got in today. I thought I wouldn’t because it was so late and they didn’t tell me anything yet.

the hs gpa will be a limiting factor for you, which is why u would need good SATS, and everything else pretty much has to be exceptional
