I was deferred from Princeton University, and I really want to know why. Is it a bad idea to email the admission office--I can't hear on the phone because I'm deaf--why I got deferred?

you can email or you can TDY

I dont think they will even give you a concrete answer.
Even I got deferred at princeton.

They'll prolly tell you not to lose hope and to report any changes to your profile and that you were deferred coz we didnt have many seats and there were too many people this year.

I am not sure but....I think this could even backfire on to you in the Regular pool. I dont think asking a question like this is a good idea.

How? I just want to know what I need to do to improve my chance not only in Princeton but also in other colleges.

Your school counselor can also call them and get information for you. Calling to ask will not affect you negatively in the RD........
