Hello fellow mates, like all 3000 something applicants i too was deferred and now i am wondering what shall i do that can increase my chances. I know that many that we should send an email to the adcom to tell them about our interests but I am not sure whether i should be pestering the adcom with that. So please advise. Thanks in advance. And Congo to all those who got in!

Treat it like a rejection and move on

If there is new and significant information (such as a new award or other outstanding achievement) that is relevant to your application, it could be sent in. They are not looking for additional recommendation letters.

Unless something serious significant has changed, see what Cantiger wrote, there isn’t much more you can do to tilt the numbers in your favor.

I presume you’re sending out a lot RD applications to other schools. If not, that should be your focus rather than dwelling on a deferral (as much as it stings)

Good luck

Thanx… For the replies. I am now focussing on RD and I have left P’ton to HOPE :P. Lets see what happens
