Bad idea to move to cali due to the states financial status?

Hi there I am completing my associates degree at a community college in NY. If i was to transfer to Cal Poly, would i most likely be a junior?

and also i wish to become a resident so i might take a semester off and work.

However, I dont know if this is all a bad idea being CA is bankrupt. How would this affect my experience in CA with both working and living on my own, along with attending school in CA.

I wish to leave NY and experience the environment in CA, it looks beautiful out there.
if only government wasnt such a factor -_-

lol but idk any advice would be great. Im not rich, though im financially stable.

I think California would be a great place to start living on my own and experience the wellness. I understand its expensive, could you give me an idea of what im in for?

Thanks so much :)

The Cal states and the UC’s have been hit pretty hard by the financial crisis. It’s harder to get classes and you’re paying more and getting less, especially if you are out of state. Even if you get california residency, you’ll be paying out of state tuition for at least a year. And the residency process is very nit picky. If even one little thing disqualifies you from obtaining residency, they’ll deny you and you’ll have to wait another year.

Did you really have to start three threads asking essentially the same question?

yes pinata cha cha

What part of New York do you live in? SLO probably isn’t as expensive as NYC. oh, it see. Upstate. NVM
