If there is a discrepancy between your college and high school performance, is it a bad idea to include an addendum addressing this in your transfer application? In my case, my second semester junior, senior year, and college record thus far have all been remarkably better than my freshman, sophomore and first semester junior year grades. There were mitigating circumstances precipitating this change in performance, which I touched upon in one of my essays, but would it be best to include a complete brief (one paragraph or so) explanation of how, yes, although my time and attention weren't where they should have been at one point (namely on my school work), I have since gotten my act together? Thanks in advance for any responses.

I think your record will be fairly self-explanatory, but if you can find some way of briefly mentioning it without being redundant I don't really see why not.
