I'm applying to top colleges including HYP. Unfortunately, I got grade slip: 4 Bs in AP courses and As in AP Calculus and three non-weighed courses. How bad is this? Will I still have a shot in Duke with excellent stats and bad mid-year report? How much does a bad mid-year report bring down your chance? Is it significant? Or it is no big deal?

ugh i have the same question too. just got my physics test back (33%, i really tried!) and it is NOT looking good in that class. I'm shooting for a b-, but most likely a c. A's in ap art, bio, gov. B's in ap lit.

AP classes are so hard!! :( I have A in French, B+ in Lit (hope my dissertation will earn a fat A and bring it up this quarter), B/+ Physics, B+/A- Chem, and B+ Calc BC. A+ in honors history. I used to get A or A+ in the honors classes.

It's not fair that some schools have easier AP courses. I can't believe those people who're zipping through all their APs with As.

duke classes are hard.

ha, well said

Yeah, I'm getting a B in AP Physics, and it kinda sucks, but whatev. I'm never doing physics again, I know that for a fact. Those test grades are embarrassing. It's like... "YES! i got POINTS!"

I can't believe I got a B (B+) in honors Anatomy. If I had answered 3 or 4 more questions right on the last test, it would be an A....aaa!

^^ Me too. I'm never touching Physics again, so it won't matter in college.

lol. it's funny to see that you guys have same question but never answered it.

haha, well it obviously wont help.

it really depends on your application and the severity of your "mess up"

I have a C in my APStat class so I hope to that they don't weight to heavily on that. I've had Bs in Math all before, and I took all the most difficult classes. But, decided on APStat instead of APCalc because I am not a fan of math for senior year. But, I've got good grades in all my other classes. Only one B out of the other 5, and that is APBio. So, let's hope it goes well.

OMG! I got a C in AP stat also! I hope it won't affect me either. Hopefully my A in ap calc will balance it out.......

I got a C+ in AP chemistry in the fall term, which is supposedly the hardest science class in my school mainly because our teacher makes killer tests which take forever to finish but he gives us no time. i have A or A- in the rest of my classes though, including multivariable calculus and AP physics.
