Okay, first of all, NOBODY LAUGH at me for panicking! I just want a realistic answer.
For my whole high school career, I've been a straight-A student in tough classes (4-5 AP's and the rest Honors), and I'm ranked 10 in a class of 640. But despite my best efforts, it looks like I'll be getting a B or B+ in AP Physics C. If I do, it'll drop my GPA and class rank considerably. I don't want to be that one kid complaining about a B, but I'm applying to some really selective schools, and I don't want a drop on my mid-year report to kill my already-slim chances! Will schools consider/evaluate my mid-year report thoroughly like any other part of my application, or is it more of a check that I'm still challenging myself/haven't completely gone off track senior year?
Any advice is appreciated! :)

You’re fine. Your mid years are to see that you’re not slacking off. And please stop being that person obsessed w/your class rank. In 6 months, there will be no person on this planet who will ever care.

Thanks. I honestly do not care about class rank in itself, but at my school a B will drop you like 50 places and I thought such a big drop might make me look like a slacker. Trust me, I cannot WAIT to not give a fuck about it in 4 months.
