Bad semester.

I just completed my first semester of my sophomore year and I messed up. My freshman year I had a 4.0. This semester I took organic chemistry 1 and physics 1 and got a B- in orgo and B+ in physics. My GPA this semester is looking to be a 3.62. I know why I got these results (poor time management) and feel like I can go back to doing really well. The thing that I am worried about though is whether this one bad semester will ruin my chances at getting into an MD medical school straight out of college.

No. One bad semester will to keep you out of med school.

You have 3 more semesters to improve your GPA.

If you can pull your GPA up–fine; if you can’t, then plan on a gap year. (More than 60% of med school matriculants took 1 or more gap years according to MSQ. A gap year–or two-- is the norm nowadays. )
