Pre-med after one bad semester?

I’m a premed undergrad, and this has been my worst semester grade-wise. My grades aren’t awful (I’m not failing…), but I’m worried that I’ve ruined my chances at med school. Here are my projected grades for this semester…

Organic chemistry: 3.7
Physics 3.3
Physical Chemistry 3.0
Humanities: 4.0

Will I be okay with this semester (provided I bounce back next semester)? I have good grades apart from this semester (all 4.0s and 3.7s), I have research experience, and I’ve received a few awards/nominations in my school. How much do med schools care about having one not-great semester?

Should not be a problem. However, if you have a downward trend on the gpa, it is not good. So, try to get it up there next semester. Moreover, make sure your BCMP gpa is in line with 3.6+ otherwise it will hurt you.

@artloversplus thanks! so far my bcmp gpa is above 3.6 (even with this semester), so I should hopefully be in good shape as long as I get back on track grade-wise in the coming semesters, right?

Yes
And if you can get a killer Mcat with enough Ec, lor you are good to go
