<p>Did you tell the school about your job? 5 AP classes is tough, but if they wanted to give you another chance, they want probably at least average achievement in those classes. If you didn't tell UCLA about anything that could affect your grades other than senioritis, you might as well do so now.</p>

<p>I had pretty substandard grades in high school. In one of my essays I talked about my family's financially-challenged situation and the various jobs l worked at throughout high school. I'm pretty sure they put two and two together because I got in without having to do any supplemental stuff. :D</p>
<p>nice. yeah i was hoping of that too, but i guess they just had too many well-qualified applicants. plus those budget cuts, now they have to be extra selective.</p>
