aunt jemima did u get a likely from cornell or from any of ur other choices?

I don't think the Hotel School does likely letters... do they? I am still waiting to hear from them. I guess I'll have to suffer 3 more days.

i got the decision march 14th..and i applied on the last day, i was suprised actually.

hmmm... I applied on the last day too. No one from my school has heard anything from the Hotel School, so I am still optimistic.

wow...we're all hearing about u guys giving ur views on the Brirish system... any views on the IITs ???

sorry, what are IITs?

Indian Institutes of Technology...they were ranked #3 in the world for Engineering by THES...even after losing points for no int'l proffessors (they actually dropped it from #1 for that!!!)

but my take is that its a too engineering centred approach at the IITs and way too theoretical...which is why i choose cornell...but IITians the world over are consider very hard-working and intelligent...prolly why NASA chose IIT for direct under-grad job placements...its the only school outside the US.

Wow, I have been too ignorant and never realized how great of an institution the IIT is. I don't have much to say about that, but I know Cornell's engineering is outstanding. Are you from India?

yes...100% desi...
sadly int'ls can't apply to the IITs thou...but Oxford's chancellor's (he's got this thing for India ever since his daughter starred in an Indian movie called Rang de Basanti) been holding talks to open up the IITs

Considering the historic backgrounds of both nations, I am intrigued by what might happen as a result of the chancellor's urging.
