Bad teacher: explanation?

I've got a problem with one of my teachers at my school. Apparently, he doesn't teach very well but he likes to mess up grades (highest grade on last test was B+ for the ENTIRE grade). How do I explain the somewhat low grade that I got to adcoms without being whiny? Or should I just suck it up and suffer the entire year?

Under no circumstances should you blame a bad grade on a teacher. Colleges do not look favorably on such excuses - after all, most kids have had a lousy teacher at one time or another, and probably have some lousy teachers on their own faculties.

If you cannot transfer out, you need to suck it up. Besides, one slightly lower grade in one class isn't going to hurt you.

And, now that you recognize how this teacher works, you need to kill yourself in this class to really do your best. Imagine the story you could tell: "This teacher never gives higher than an A-; I was the first student who ever got an A from him."

Alternatively, maybe this teacher could even provide you with a recommendation!

In other words: Make lemonade.

I agree with VeryHappy. If Life hands you Lemons, then make Lemonade!

I had a freshman science teacher that was like that. I kept receiving 80s and 85s when what I really deserve were high 90s. I know this for sure because for one, I never missed a homework assignment. Eventualy this science teacher got fired! But still, suck it up and do your very best.

If you read the book Make Lemonade, I think that book is the best way to depress yourself without considering drugs (I fell asleep 5 times in 4 chapters)

well, what if its poop? i don't know about you, but poopade doesn't sound any more delicious than regular old poop.
