So, the day of the PSAT this year, I was pretty sick. I threw up before school, but I didn't know that there was another day I could make it up, so I went to school to take the test anyway. Well, halfway through the directions, my teacher told me I could make it up the next Saturday since I was obviously really sick.

So, I go to the nurse to have my mom pick me up since I had no cell phone or car, but guess what? The nurse won't let me go home, just because I don't have a fever! Okay, so I could be bleeding out the eyeballs, but no fever, and they'd do nothing? She told me if I was really sick I wouldn't have come to school. I pointed out to her that I was a junior and it was a really important test for me. She said I was probably just sick from nerves, and gave me some crackers.

Oh man, I flipped out. I burst into tears and tried to convince her to let me go home and threw such a fit all while trying not to throw up on her. Which I should have. She wasn't having it, and I just went back to class and took most of the PSAT in tears.

But I'm used to this kind of injustice--I once got a Saturday School for asking someone what the weather was during anouncements.

So, anyone else have similar stories? Illness, bad proctors, bad testing enviroments, etc?

I sat in this huge study hall room at my school...it was considerably nice outside..the window (no more than five feet away from me) was open. I see a storm coming in, it starts to rain and thunder, the proctor shuts the window. To my surprise, the window keeps being blown open..as I'm sitting right next to it, study hall was packed, I couldn't just leave the room. I had to deal with rain..sometimes,...coming in on me..and not to forget thunder and lightning that scared the crap out of everyone everytime it struck every five minutes.

i dunno if this qualifies as a bad experience, but everytime i'm taking a standardized test, midway through it i always havta take the biggest massive enormous s h i t. it happened during my sat IIs, and during my ap calc and ap chem exam. i gotta learn not to eat 5 slices of pizza, 3 cans of coke, and ice cream the night b4.

bad test experiance:
one time, i got a 1460 on my SAT and never retook. then, another time, i had to take TWO SAT IIs on ONE day and one WASN'T an 800 (it was a 780 :(((). okay, so im being an ******* today, i feel cynical, so shoot me

Your nurse is a moron. We are allowed to leave for nearly any reason. Some kids take advantage of it but most realize that if they miss it is more work on them.

As for distractions: when I took my ACTs the first time, the guy behind me was staring at me. I didn't notice it until I looked at the clock the first time, but then once I did, I couldn't get over it. We were in a lecture hall and I know he was trying to look at my test but I didn't want to say anything because, well, I don't really know why not, but I wasn't going to make a scene. I just did a better job of covering my answer key, but the a$$ then just tried harder.

When I took the SATs this past time, there was a girl who was sick and kept blowing her nose. The first couple times, I was like "Ok, she's sick, just deal." but after a whole pile of tissues I got really irritated and asked the proctor to deal with her. She was asked to leave because it was obvious that I was not the only one who was bothered by her. I'm sorry that she was sick, but I will not let her affect something that has monumental importance.

a kid in my room kept on farting and burping every 5 minutes during one test...but I think he was mentally disabled; that's why nobody made fun of him after
