I know I certainly am. I keep trying to ween myself from the delicious notion of Northwestern being my verymosttippity-toppest choice by saying, OK, Elizabeth, be realistic. You would only be MILDLY depressed for a RELATIVELY long period of time if you didnt get in.

It is little consolation.
I love Northwestern so much. I did the Cherubs program this summer from Theatre Arts and I can safely assert that it was the best experience Ive had as an artist. Juniors: GO TO IT. I hope to wriggle my way into the Creative Writing for the Media Program, and if not, then double major in English and Theater (across schools, gasp.)

My stats (I transferred from a 200-person K-12 school to a 2200-person school):
The short version: I make mostly As. Spattering of Bs in Math and French. The semester I transferred, my grades plummeted. Brought them up by about 10 points each. GPA is about a 4.0, but its hard to judge. Class rank at old school would probably have been 2 or 3/60, but going off junior year alone was 96/454.

-SAT I- 1420 (710, 710. Then took it again and got 710, 710. I'm too durn consistant.)
- SAT IIs- Writing, 790. A less stellar Math IIC 660 and a revolting French sans listening 640.
-About 15 plays/musicals with different organizations and schools (including NHSI at Northwestern, Duke, and Phillips Andover); directing Metamorphoses at Duke this spring
-Pres./Founder Drama Club

-Mentor to this really awesome girl whom I looooove.
-Class secretary 9th, 10th
-Church/missions to inner-city San Antonio

Teacher recommendations from my Precalculus teacher who realized how hard I worked to dig myself out and adjust at my new school, and from my Creative Writing/Journalism/English teacher/soulmate at my old school.

Essay was the Nixon one, a sort of self-mockery talking about myself and the hilarity of my two handicapped parents during my school switch, as compared to a tabloid-stalked celebrity, with a recurring theme of static versus kinetic energy. Needless to say, twas unique.

Interview went excellently, as, said he, did my short answers.

Okay. Its clear Im a wreck. Break it to me gently.
