UChicago's application was so awesome...
I just need a few sentences to finish Tufts and Cornell, but lack the motivation...
I know that I'll make do with anywhere (Of course, that requires me to FINISH applications), but there's only one place I REALLY want to go.
The end.

That's my attitude as well. If I didn't get into UofC, I don't know what I would have done because all my other applications were kind of like "euh..." I think the only other one I put some real effort into Dartmouth's.

Well, I put effort into it, but not nearly as much heart as I did UofC's.

If I hadn't been accepted ea I would be in such trouble right now, because I put no effort into my other apps. I literally copy pasted my entire U of C app into the other applications. Half the time I wasn't even answering the question. I just couldn't imagine going to another school so I had no motivation to put effort into applying.

gambadent, I know exactly how you feel. I could write a 500 word essay for the common app, or, I could copy and paste my 900 word UChicago essay. I actually do have a common app essay, but it's really awful. But who cares? :)

UChicago's app was the only one that I had fun writing. Not the typical "Tell us something about yourself" college essay where they expect you to talk about you grandmother or something (which I refuse to do).

My commonapp essay is really bad, too.

It's like on the first day of school, where for every period, you're supposed to say what you did over the summer.

Luckily, you can copy and paste here.

Haha-- Exactly. Reminds me that when I am actually asked about what I did over vacation I'll have to say: "applications."

same here. I am desperately trying to think of ways to alter my Chicago essay to fit the NW prompts. Haha...i don't think it's supposed to work that way.

I think the other apps' essays just seem so much more shallow compared to chicago's. I had to struggle with obvious answers to teh questions asked in the common app and the supplements.

I love to write, and UChicago's app really brought that out. I had fun with their essays. Common App essays... blah. I'm finding that Northwestern's essay prompts are similar to the Common App's. Only not similar enough to reuse them. (If I were smart, I would have written Northwestern's essay first and reused it for the Common App). Their short answers are better. And now I'm wasting time by babbling just so I don't have to finish my essays. 1 day...

my chicago essay was only about 530 words so i just used it as my common app essay. it fits rather nicely. and i can use it for rice too because the question matches. :)
