Does anyone have any practical solutions they've come up with to balance the homework you get from classes and the overwhelming amount of AP material to study?

Assuming most of the homework comes from the AP classes themselves, it isn’t a major problem in a sense you are “reviewing” for the AP doing the homeworks - but usually the later topics. Yet it does get frustrating when I really need to go over previous topics more so, but I just end up sacrificing sleep - which makes it really hard to get up in the mornings but it is about how much you really want to get the 5.

The only useful advice is I wouldn’t try to super rush the homeworks in an effort to quickly focus on the AP because if the homework is indeed somewhat difficult it just leads to more stress, and puts you in a bad mindset afterwards to prepare for the AP.

If the homework is super irrelevant to the AP then I would study for the ap first, and then start the homework later at night.

4 exams here, very overwhelmed too…anyone have advice for ap spanish? It’s just hard to “study” for…

Yeah I know how you feel.

Aside from my APs (some of which are still throwing completely irrelevant work at us), I have my pre-calc class and my (non-AP) language, both of which are relentless in continuing their material. I guess it’s just about balancing your time and, if necessary, missing some days to cave in and study only for APs.

I read over my AP books right before bed and then get up early in the morning to read/review what I read before bed. Not only is this practical, because I get to do my homework during the afternoon, but studying before bed is shown to have many benefits. The material you review is the last information you take in for the day and doesn’t become cluttered by newly acquired information you take in afterwards. Also, your brain works with that material as you sleep. You “dream” about that information and it becomes more ingrained in your psyche. Sorry, I get really carried away with all this psychology stuff, it’s just really fascinating.

The reviewing in the morning only reinforces what you do at night (keep in mind, I’m a morning person).

Yeah I was going to study over spring break, but I was sick…now no time. The projects and homework are piling up, and it’s really annoying. Well, I guess it’s moreso quizzes/tests…

Junior year is the worst - took SAT 2x, ACT, subject tests next month, then ap exams, perhaps more SAT/ACT in june…

I agree. Junior year sucks. I have 4 AP’s, 3 subject tests, 1 real SAT thing, and 1 ACT…and finals…

I’m taking AP Lang so not much studying there… only practicing in class.

AP World is another story. My teacher this semester is horrible and I end up learning most of the material by reading the 30+ pg chapters :/

Only two AP tests, so I’m just basically studying when I get the chance. I just have an Honors USH paper looming over my head that I can’t even force myself to do… it’s pretty terrible.
For AP Physics B, my teacher prepared us very well for the AP. The questions I’ve seen in the Barron’s book are right out of something my teacher would give us.
For Calc AB, my teacher didn’t quite prepare us as well. I feel like he was kind of easy, honestly. Still, I’m running like a 99 in the class, so I’m assuming I know my stuff somewhat well.
And yeah, I’m a junior, and it’s no fun. Got the SAT out of the way, thankfully (took it in January), but I still have these two APs, two subject tests in June, and then, of course, the unrelenting schoolwork. Oh well, year’s almost over.

I guess this is one of the benefits of having almost all AP classes. We are pretty much done with all new material, or will be finishing up very soon.
I have a few teachers that have been teaching AP for years and I can tell will prepare me terrifically for the exam (APUSH, Calc, and Stat) without a lot of self-motivated studying.

Just think about this as the last push before summer :)

too many projects…I’m basically rushing through hw so I can study a couple hours before bed…AP spanish barron’s I guess, studying hardest for calc/us…this late in the year, maybe too late for amsco? I’m using The essential content. As for english, idk, cliffnotes for essay help I guess.
