My son applied to schools in September. He now has 6 acceptances, 1 rejection, and 2 schools we haven’t heard from.
But he’s happy that his top 2 schools are in the “accepted” pile.
We filed FAFSA after New Years, and I amended it today after we filed our taxes last week.
Can anyone give me a ballpark idea of what happens next? Is there any sort of way to predict when we’ll get bottom line type of numbers from the schools to which he’s been accepted?
It depends on the schools but we heard a few weeks after their priority deadline, in March and April
if you’ve been selected for verification, be sure to get all that done quickly. schools won’t send the actual package until it’s done. some schools are VERY slow with this process (verification), and their FA package for 1 came so late as to take the school out of the running for our d (even with us hounding them).
as mom said above, each school is different. EA schools might be a little earlier (early to mid-march) than the RD schools which will wait until decision notifications or even after.
It depends on the school, but you should expect at least an estimated FA package within the next few weeks. Note that these early financial aid package may not be final as there may be some changes in tuition rate, R&B cost, etc. You will receive revised notice later on.
